She's Gone

Jade Goody passed away on the day Brits celebrate Mothers Day....after a public battle with cervical cancer. It was news everyone was expecting to hear, especially after she was released from hospital. But when the news came, it was still sad. My prayers go out to her family, especially her sons. But also to so many other families who have, and are, going through similar situations.

It's been a while...

That it has...and so much has happened since I last saw Idols...or blogged on it.

The tragic death of Natasha Richardson has made me realise how fragile and short life is. I haven't seen many Liam Neeson movies...but this story reminds me of how sad he was when he lost his wife in Love Actually....I cannot imagine the grief he and his family is going through now. My heart goes out to them!!

I love the vintage picture of Natasha on the Vanity Fair site!

More tragic (yet cruel) news from the world of celebrities...is OK! magazines' tribute to Jade Goody. From a media person, I think it's totally pathetic how they're trying to cash in on her dying....for goodness sake, how can you have an "In Loving Memory of Jade Goody" magazine, if she's still fighting this illness.

My friend justified this by saying, at least she gets to see what people are saying about her...

What do you think?

A Foggy Day

Yes, indeed it is....Mathew Moolman is gone!!

The talent in Idols season 5 isn't the best, but gosh, the guys in the competition can definitely sing, INCLUDING Mathew!!

I was in utter shock when he was voted out...it's not something I understand. And I could see the shock on the contestants faces as well, when presenter Liezel van der Westhuizen bid him a final farewell.

It makes me wonder about this voting system...do South Africans not know talent when they see or hear it, or are people basing their votes on race? If the latter is true...then it really is foggy days in the 21st century.

Doesn't Really Matter

The rumours are rife that Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together. A mere three weeks after the alleged assault, that left her looking like this...

Must say they do make a good couple...if pics of their happier days are anything to go by. Although I expected this to happen, I must admit, if the rumours are true, I am a little disappointed. Rihanna has the perfect opportunity for women all over, to highlight the importance of domestic violence. She can stand up for women's rights, stand tall and stand proud! Now, if, God forbid, this should happen to her again..everyone would be saying 'I told you so....she shouldn't have gone back to him'.

If for whatever reason Rihanna is back with Chris Brown...good for them....they clearly love each other that much, that almost anything is forgiveable. From the outside we shouldn't judge, but pray that history won't repeat itself. With all the crap already going on in the world, we don't need a modern day Ike and Tina Turner.

I guess it doesn't really matter what we say, think or feel...In the end it's these two people who'll have to live with the decisions they make. Afterall, it only affects them, doesn't it?
